To launch new services and expand its international network, Emirates has chosen Boeing, placing a firm order for 65 777-9 aircraft with the American manufacturer at the Dubai Airshow, held from November 17 to 21.
Emirates, already the largest operator of the Boeing 777, has placed a new order with the American aircraft manufacturer for 205 more aircraft of the same family, including 777-8 and 777-9 models.
Emirates’ choice of the Boeing 777 (as the leading operator of these wide-body aircraft) further underscores the suitability of this family of wide-body aircraft for the Emirati airline’s growth and global connectivity ambitions.
“We see enormous potential for developing several new intercontinental routes. We have come to the conclusion that the Boeing 777 is the best choice for us,” explains Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of the Emirates Group.
